Earl discovered that his walkie-talkie was being picked up by Millie Banks's hearing aid which she mistook for the voice of God, so, he, Randy, and Joy decided to play a trick on her and give various commands as such. Banks did everything that Earl told her through the walkie-talkie such as ripping up her citations as the manager of the trailer park and giving away her valuables. Then she went on to move to a monastery and become a nun. In the present, Earl tells Millie the truth, resulting in her abandoning the monastery and returning to her cantankerous ways at the trailer park. Earl wants to trick Millie into seeing a sign from God so she would go back to being happy as a nun, so he breaks into her trailer and replaces her daily grilled cheese with a sandwich Joy had burned the image of Jesus into with a blowtorch but is caught before making his leave. Nevertheless, Earl is able to talk her back into returning to the monastery without needing a sign from God to do it.
