After he moved Joy to different places, trying to hide her from an angered Jessie, Joy finally admitted that it was not his fault that they got married, it was hers. She explained that her friends manipulated Earl into marrying her so she would have someone to support her baby.

She crossed Jessie off his List, saying it was her fault, not his.
