Lost my own car because I'm an idiot[]
Carl Hickey added "Lost my own car because I'm an idiot" when he told Earl that the car was meant for him to begin with (see #108), leaving Earl in the unique position of having to cross himself off.
Earl decided to fix up the car to pay back himself for losing it. When Earl was struggling with fixing it, Carl jumped in and began to help, having intended for the two to fix up the car together. The two bonded, and Earl realized that this was something else he'd denied himself by losing car. Earl crossed #268 off the list, satisfied he'd made it up to himself, and ended up leaving the car at his father's house so he could drive it whenever he wanted.
