Cost Dad an election[]
Years ago, Carl Hickey, Earl's and Randy's father, decided to run for mayor in order to stop current mayor Marty Park's plan to divert airplanes from flying over the local golf course to flying over the area of Camden County where many of the citizens of Camden County live. Unfortunately, Joy was pulled over by a police officer and resulted in camera footage looking as if Earl was attacking the police officer. The footage was used in a campaign against Carl, which helped Marty Park win by a landslide.
Earl decides it is time to cross Cost Dad an election off his list and by appearing in a television debate in Carl's name, Carl decides to actually run. Upon receiving the news that Earl's father was behind in the poles, Earl becomes an registrar to help bring in non registered voters for his father. As Earl, Joy, and Randy are driving to submit the registration forms Earl has collected from fellow citizens. Joy hands the forms to Randy, who is outside the car, causing the forms to fly into the road. Earl is pulled over by the same police officer from years ago and is tazered when attempting to run toward the forms. Earl, while being tazered, falls onto the police officer causing them both to become electrocuted. This new footage is used in a campaign against Carl which results in Marty Park winning by a landslide again. As a result, for the first time since it was created, Earl failed to cross an item off his list.
