Jessie is a former girlfriend of Earl who he dumped to marry Joy.

Before Season 1

Earl went out with Jessie for three weeks, and they had a good relationship. However, Joy got Earl drunk and married him so she would have someone to help support her baby (that later turned out to be his). Jessie confronts Earl and his new wife, who insulted her before punching Jessie and causing her to lose some teeth. Jessie recovered and devoted herself to get even with Joy by training and learning various styles, while becoming a bounty hunter ("The Bounty Hunter").

Season 1

Jessie came to find Joy after she discovered she was wanted for not appearing court. She tracked Joy down and chased her to a forest where she was hiding with Earl. When they finally met again, Joy surrendered but Jessie made it clear that she wanted to beat Joy up and knock out her teeth before bringing her in. Joy and Jessie had a fight, but in spite of her skill she lost and got her gold teeth knocked out, resulting in Joy stealing them for Earl to pay her bail. She and Earl left Jessie in the forest. Jessie was still vengeful and started training again for a rematch.
