Josh Martin was a Bargain Bag store employee, that Joy locked in the back of a Bargain Bag truck.

Before Season 2[]

Josh was intimidated by Glen Shipley when he asked to have a job at Bargain Bag ("My Name Is Inmate 28301-016 (Part 2)").

Josh sold raffle tickets for a trip to the World Trade Center site during Camden County's Fourth of July celebration after 9/11. ("Our Other 'Cops' Is On! (Part 1)").

Season 2[]

When Joy wanted to get $3000 back from Bargain Bag after they refused to give her a refund, she stole a truck from them, not realizing that Josh was in the back. Enlisting the help of Earl, they tried to help the man escape without him being able to identify them, but they were unsuccessful and Joy was sent to prison for grand theft auto, kidnapping and assault ("Very Bad Things").

Josh died at his apartment when his retractable bed inadvertently retracted and crushed him. Earl throws a funeral for Josh with various friends Josh had kept connected with on the internet. ("Kept a Guy Locked in a Truck")

Season 3[]

When Earl was in a coma he was in his own sitcom world and got a promotion at his job but it means leaving all of his friends and family for good, but in the real world he was dying. Josh was Earl's taxi driver in the coma world to take him to his new job, implying Earl was close to dying. But Randy crossed an item off Earl's list and he started getting better so Earl decide not to take the promotion in the coma world. ("I Won't Die with a Little Help from My Friends (Part 2)")

Season 4[]

Josh featured a vital part in the death of Ernie Belcher, albeit unknowingly. He was seen on the episode of Inside Probe filmed in 2001 (before his death) but shown in 2009 (after his death). He was recementing the floor in the women's bathroom of the Crab Shack, which Ernie fell into and drowned without anyone realising ("Inside Probe (Part 2)")

Notes[]

  • Josh's name was not given throughout the whole of his first appearance in Very Bad Things.
