Maggie Lester was a bearded lady that Earl knew as a child.

Before Season 2

Maggie was from Arizona. Her parents were divorced.

Earl teased Maggie as a child due to a moustache that was developing above her lips. Several months later, she left the class and was home-schooled. ("Sticks & Stones").

Season 2

When she grew, Maggie attempted to shave the mustache but failed and it grew to a beard. She came to terms with it and moved to Shady Grove, a residence for carnival folk whilst they were not on tour. Earl and his brother went to see her to apologize and make up for their past behavior, which he did by getting to know all the other carnival folk in Shady Grove, including Jean, Paul, William, Tommy and Kevin. After Earl encouraged Maggie to live a more open life in public, she became a successful realtor.
