Earl went to return a laptop he stole from Alex Meyers but Alex turned out to be a woman, and he saw and heard Tom call her Professor Meyers. Earl didn't know how to handle a smart woman so pretended he was tying his shoelaces and told himself knot had a K out loud, Tom looked at him and Earl told him the K was silent.
Tom responded sarcastically that he would remember next time he was in second grade and laughed which annoyed Earl so he punched Tom in the gut. Tom fell down and groaned, then Earl realized what he had done and that Karma would punish him for it so he got out his List and asked Tom what his name was.
